Did you know that medication can work even when it’s sitting in your pocket?
Medication Management
I prescribe medication that can help treat a number of psychiatric conditions, including:
Depression and other mood disorders
Anxiety disorders
OCD
PTSD
Borderline personality disorder and other personality disorders
Psychodynamic Psychopharmacology
Psychodynamic psychopharmacology is a person-centered approach to psychiatric care that makes it more likely to experience medications as helpful to you.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational interviewing (MI) helps individuals make healthier, more productive decisions, which typically involves identifying ways in which current decisions are less useful and building the motivation and ability to make that change.
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
Psychodynamic therapy explores the ways that childhood experiences and relationships shape the patterns that determine our actions. Psychodynamic therapy can help you to notice these patterns and reshape them.
Psychoanalysis
Psychoanalysis is a more frequent, in-depth method of conducting psychodynamic psychotherapy. Psychoanalysis is typically defined by the combination of psychodynamic principles with a higher frequency of appointments and the use of a couch.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a brief, manualized treatment model that helps you to modify dysfunctional thought patterns so that you can take more control over your feelings and behaviors.
Our Services
-
Thinking about getting started with medication management or talk therapy? Trying to find the right fit? I offer a 15 minute phone call to discuss your treatment options.
-
The intake process typically takes place over the course of 2-3 sessions. I do not typically start a new medication, refill an existing prescription, or stop a medication you are already taking during the first session. Rather, we will spend 60 minutes getting to know each other. I will get a sense of your personal history, your treatment history, and your treatment goals. You will get a sense of whether I am a good fit for you. You are strongly encouraged to ask questions and feedback is always welcome. The first session will typically last for 60 minutes, while subsequent sessions range from 30 to 45 minutes.
-
We will discuss medication options that are right for you. These are 30 minute sessions, typically monthly.
